- Margate is one of the busiest teardown and rebuild markets on Absecon Island, on lots that leave almost no working room.
- Houses come down in controlled sections pulled inward, so nothing travels toward the neighbor's siding.

Small Lots, Big Rebuilds
Margate is one of the most active teardown and rebuild markets on Absecon Island, and the lots leave almost no working room.
Margate blocks are tight and the houses are close. On a typical lot the excavator has a few feet of clearance and a neighbor's siding on the other side of it, so the structure comes down in controlled sections pulled inward rather than pushed over.
Because so much of the island turns over to new construction, the handoff matters as much as the teardown. Foundation out, debris hauled, rough grade clean and ready for the builder's schedule instead of a lot that needs a second contractor to finish.
